Deputy Prime Minister Numan KURTULMUŞ:
“Unity in language, thought and work means heart”
Non Governmental Initiative (Bishkek) – In his speech at the Kyrgyzstan Turkey Manas University Deputy PM Numan Kurtulmuş said; “Others dominated this area and established word domination. However instead of advancing the humanity forward for a century they went backwards in terms of peace”.
Attending the events held for the centennial death anniversary of İsmail Gaspıralı, Deputy PM Kurtulmuş later met with Chairman of Laws and Legal Committee of Kyrgyz Parliament Kalmatov Anarbek Baratovich, and then with Kyrgyz Deputy PM Tayırbek Sarpaşev to discuss the development of mutual relations.
Deputy PM Kurtulmuş performed the Friday prayer at the mosque of the Theology Faculty of Manas University before meeting the Kyrgyz Prime Minister.
Kurtulmuş met with the former President Rosa Otunbayeva following he was welcomed by the Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev at the State Guesthouse. Kurtulmuş later visited the Artists Rue and attended the symposium at the campus named after Cengiz Aytmatov.
We did not know where Bishkek was or where Mostar and Gümülcine were!
In his speech at the symposium Deputy PM Numan Kurtulmuş stated Turkey is attempting to break the barriers, which have been established around its intellectual world since a century, and said; “Turkey has lived in a closed society 45 years during the Cold War and many more years due to the administration approaches that appeared following the World War I. Turkey lived as a closed country not only against its enemies but also against its friends”.
“The Berlin Wall had separated the east and the west during the Cold War. The old Turkey had established a wall of steel around the borders. We did not know where Bishkek was or where were Nakhchevan, Baku, Kircali, Gümülcine, Mostar, Sarajevo, Erbil or Mosul. These places were erased out of our intellects and hearts as if they belonged to foreigners. We almost had no physical and actual connection left with our Turkish brothers, cognates or coreligionists in the Islamic world”.
The works of TİKA cannot be only performed with financial means …
Kurtulmuş said “As the Republic of Turkey is growing stronger, its hands extended towards the friends also started growing stronger” and informed about the works of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA).
Stating that the works undertaken by TİKA cannot only be conducted via financial means, Deputy PM Kurtulmuş said; “these are not works only to be conducted through projects developed at offices; there are works of hearts and about having open minds.
“Our civilization and culture has lots to give to world. I am speaking on behalf of the children of a geography defeated and separated a century ago; others dominated this area and established word domination. However instead of advancing the humanity forward for a century they went backwards in terms of peace. Now we are at an era where people who feel peace, righteousness, justice, fidelity, goodness and humanity at their hearts have lots to say to the world”.
Pointing that great responsibilities are loaded on the Turkish world, Kurtulmuş continued:
“The Islamic world also has a great responsibility. We can see ourselves not developed sufficiently at certain aspects. However our spiritual and intellectual worlds are wealthy enough to set up a new world and a new peace. Only we should develop this language …
If good things do not come out of one’s tongue, they will not come out of his works. Such people will go and make atom bombs; they will occupy countries and kill thousands of people. They will rule people under iron fists, deprive them of their rights, keep them together as slaves and try to develop and economical wealth from the works of these people. Therefore Unity in language, thought and work takes that language from the heart. That is the language of heart, language of thought and intellect. Righteousness comes out of the words and acts of those who have a clear mindset and heart, and have justice in their minds and hearts.
