The meeting organized by the Embassy of Kyrgyzstan to Ankara and Honorary Consular of Kyrgyzstan in Kayseri, was attended by the Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Ankara İbragim Junusov, Honorary Consular of Kyrgyzstan in Kayseri Dr. Mustafa Kurt, Deputy Director of Kyrgyzstan Investment Agency at the Kyrgyz Ministry of Economy Nurbek Maksutov and about a hundred Turkish businessmen.
During the meeting some important information including increasing the economic relations between both countries, private and public sector investment opportunities in Kyrgyzstan, Kyrgyz legal system and financial legislations.
Kyrgyzstan’s Ambassador to Ankara Junusov said they aim to tell about the unknown ways of Kyrgyzstan to the Turkish businessmen and provide information about the economic potential of Kyrgyzstan.
Reminding that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has set an objective to increase the trade volume between both countries to 1 billion USD, Ambassador Junusov said that the Turkish businessmen own around 400 companies and have important investments in the field of education in Kyrgyzstan. Junusov said that these figures are not sufficient for two brother countries. Pointing to the mine resources in Kyrgyzstan, Junusov said “Kyrgyzstan is similar to Switzerland but there is a difference; Switzerland keeps the gold in the banks whereas the gold in Kyrgyzstan is underground”, and asked the Turkish businessmen to invest especially in the field of mining.
Following the speeches, Ambassador Junusov thanked Dr. Mustafa Kurt for his efforts for the development of Kyrgyzstan and presented him a gift.
Honorary Consular of Kyrgyzstan Dr. Mustafa Kurt thanked Ambassador İbragim Junusov for his appreciative approach, his nice words and for the gift he had been presented and added; “we have a duty of fidelity to the land of our ancestors. Although Kyrgyzstan is a state with a history of 2200 years, it is a young state which has gained its freedom in 1991. Being a new state, they require the state mind and experiences of Turkey. As Mr. Ambassador has stated, the country is very rich in terms of natural resources. The state and people of Kyrgyzstan prefer Turkey and Turkish businessmen. Kyrgyzstan aims to reveal these values and develop the country”.
The meeting ended with introduction of information regarding the economic system, state assistances and investment potential for the private sector in Kyrgyzstan.
